This is only part of the story and the inter-twinning of higher/secondary education protesters along with the various demands that each group was making made for a lively debate and an fascinating learning opportunity.  As an anthropologist of education makes clear, whether it be about ‘incidental learning’ in college dorms or ‘learning prohibited’ for 18th century slaves, education is much larger than school and 2011 was a life-size exhibit of culture, economics, and public policy all wrapped into massive community organizing.
